Week 4, post-trial

[YEAH...that trial sure was a thing. And when Chuuya comes across Ken, he's not as mad as he's been with most people. He's just sad.]

[ for the sake of my entire being of not writing ken blubbering everywhere, when chuuya finally finds him, he'll only look as though he's been crying his heart out and there's and all too familiar pin on his zipper vest. ]

Yeah. You were close to him, right? So...I'm sorry. That you had to go through all of that.

[ slow blinks. ]

...Ayabe told me that you two made a pact?

Yeah. He wouldn't kill, and I wouldn't kill.

I broke that pretty spectacularly.

[He starts to reach out, like he's going to pat Ken on top of the head, but he stops and pulls his hand back.]

but ken is appreciative that chuuya did not pat him on the head because he doesn't get those rights after the whole four thing. ]

We all have our own reasons for keeping our distance...but nothing I've said was a lie.

[ he was referring to trial. ]

Are you going to try to make it up to him?

[Yeah, today changes the dynamics of all of his CR and it's going to take him a bit to get used to that.]

I'm gonna try, yeah. I can't make any promises, but I'll at least try.

[He's pretty sure he's broken that trust too much to repair it. But he can still try.]

I asked him if I were to hold you both accountable if it'd help...

What do you think about that? Because no matter what happens in this house and what happens to anyone—I'm not going to let this house get to me.

I think it's unfair of us to expect you to be the mature one here.

[He'd say 'sorry' for that, but Ken already got one apology from Chuuya and he's not really one for apologizing in the first place.]

Yeah, I know, I gotta work on that. I've only got eight years of memories to work with, so I'm a bit behind.

Yeah, I don't remember anything from before I was seven.

[ EVERYONE EXPECTS HIM TO BE IN THE LOOP BUT...he's good at just nodding along. ]

I'm pretty sure I blew up part of a city with my gravity powers when they manifested for the first time. Not sure how that affected my memories though.

I guess that could explain why it affected your memory. That sort of thing must take a toll on your person.

Yeah, probably. ...It's not really meant to be a downer either. It's just why I don't remember anything, that's all.

[Chuuya a whole city got destroyed.]

[ let's also not think about that death toll because is that the last thing they need right now? no, the answer to that is no. ]

That's okay, I guess. It's not as thought there isn't always room to make more memories.

[It's fine, they were all evil scientists. All of the other children in the building escaped and all the hobos around there got away safely. Yep. No innocent people died at all.]

See, you get it. That's what I've been trying to do.

Yeah, I had two other senpai who didn't have all of their memories, so I don't think it's that uncommon.

[ ken one of them was a robot. ]

I wonder if we'll remember all of this when it's over.

What makes you think we'll forget it? It's pretty hard to forget a murder house.

My entire planet was nearly destroyed and humanity with it, but everyone forgot that back home.

Well, everyone except for the people who were involved with saving it.

So everything here doesn't count as being 'involved'? Because it sounds to me like we're the right people to remember all of this.

Also, 'nearly destroyed' means it wasn't destroyed, so good job protecting your world.

Well, we nearly forgot about it. [ ... ] I kind of don't know why we suddenly started to remember.
