[This is so much rain, and Percy's staring at the sky almost like it's personally offended him. He doesn't have much in the way of a jacket besides a hoodie, but when he hears Chuuya he squints at the rain a little harder.]
Yeah, I'll get right on that. [uuuugh.] What kind of a camp doesn't count on the weather messing everything up?
[He might be a little spoiled thanks to Camp Half-Blood's dome that blocks out all weather. It's fine.]
Maybe it is, but my camp isn't really normal. [Everyone will be so mad when the snow hits but that's fine. Instead, he tilts his head just slightly because hm?]
Gravity powers? How's that work? [He doesn't sound incredulous but more like he's curious.]
[Luckily Chuuya likes bragging about his OP powers, even if he keeps the source of them a secret. So he just grins before speaking.]
It works like how you'd imagine: I touch something, and I control how gravity affects it. Lifting it up, twisting it around, whatever. Keeping water from hitting me by making it float above me is nothing.
[He destroyed a whole city with his gravity powers once, didn't he? So keeping rain off of himself really is nothing. Ah, but he shouldn't let his thoughts wander during memshare week, because guess what's happening!
---
Not sleep, not wakefulness, but something in-between. Time stretched into eons, but they barely seemed to notice. They weren't here or there, or anything really. They just 'were'. An existence unbound by the rules of the universe, letting everything slide right past like water in a river. Did its power touch that river? Sometimes, maybe. But they weren't consciously aware of it, it just happened on its own.
And then, after an eternity of that muted existence, things changed.
Bright yellow lights, symbols and letters weaving in and out, forming a barrier around them. A hand, reaching out, trying to collect them.
And then, darkness once more. But not the same darkness as they were used to. Rather, this was the dark of a night sky, with stars twinkling above.
Later, he would learn of more besides that night sky. The city, turned into a crater around him, created by his explosive 'birth'. The ocean beyond, deep and blue, a sight he would come to appreciate once he knew what it was. The sounds of life in a large city, of sirens and talking and noise pollution that could drift him to sleep with it's mechanical lullaby.
But in that moment, in that crater of destruction and death that he was 'born' into, all he can do is look up in wonder and see for the first time.
---
And as soon as that memory fades away, he's sighs at rubs at his face. That really needs to stop, he's tired of having his secrets given away like that.]
[You know, it's a real pain to come from the one game that didn't have memshares because for a second he has absolutely no idea what he's even seeing. It's a lot of complicated feelings and confusion and it takes a bit for him to really register that this is something foreign, but as the memory fades he's shaking his head as if to clear it before he's busy giving Chuuya a very curious and kind of concerned Look.]
...so I have a lot of questions, but the first one is...you saw that too, right?
[HOW UNFORTUNATE but that means Percy gets to learn all the fun of memshares for the first time. Chuuya, on the other hand, already knows about this bullshit, and he's frowning and shoving his hands into his coat pockets.]
Yeah, I did. Guess you're from a place that didn't have that effect, huh?
It's a memory. My memory. And you're in for a fun week of seeing everyone's personal memories.
I've heard about this happening but I was kind of hoping to avoid it. [NO THANKS. But he's squinting a little like he's trying to comprehend everything.]
[C'mon Percy, show everyone those private memories.]
The first part, that was Arahabaki. Where I'm from, Arahabaki is sometimes called the 'god of chaos', so I guess that's a good way to sum it up.
[The idea of 'gods' is a bit more complicated in Japan, but that's probably details that he doesn't need to go into right now. Or so he assumes, because lol not knowing Percy has an in with the gods too.]
The stuff near the end, with the stars? That was my memories. My first one, actually.
[Huh. Alright, now he's just officially turning to face Chuuya because ???]
So...you were born from the god of chaos then? Kinda sounds...you know. chaotic. [But it's not like he doesn't understand, as Chuuya will find out thanks to this memory.]
[He's about to say that it is, but whoooo boy that memory. He doesn't know much about the Greek gods, but seeing the memory from Percy's point of view provides enough context for him to get what's going on.
[Give him a second to blink because wow, couldn't he at least pick? But he's giving Chuuya a blank stare for a second, almost like he's not sure he heard him right.]
...I'm not sure how brave I felt at the time, but it was something that needed to happen. I made promises to people I didn't want to break.
Week 3, Tuesday
Date: 2020-06-30 03:45 am (UTC)Chuuya is tired of the rain. He's finally aquired a coat to at least stay somewhat dry, but he's still tired of the rain.
Which is why, when he sees Percy on Tuesday, he's going to shoot a comment in his direction:]
Hey, water-boy. Make the rain stop.
[That's not even how it works, Percy just likes canoeing as far as Chuuya knows. But he's being petty and cranky and just wants to complain.]

But if you're complaining too, then maybe it's not. Che! If I had my gravity powers then I could at least keep the rain off of me.
