[Hey roomie, ready to be fukken carted off to the room for a bit? Because they need to have a conversation.]

You're not gonna like what I have to say, but I need you to stay calm because this isn't something I can handle on my own.

Hunter turned into a zombie. He said he had fought zombies this week. He had injuries from that fight too.

It's the same for Asch. He got injured by Melt, and then he turned into that same kinda monster a couple days later.

Nearly everyone I saw had some kind of bandages or injuries on them. At least some of them definitely came from monsters too. And the others, I don't think they'll be honest if I ask.

It's spreading, Akira.

[his expression hardens, mouth turning into a thin line]

I think. . . it had already spread.

[his gaze flickers up]

Plum apparently said that anyone here has the ability to turn into one of those monsters. Anyone.

And I can't help but wonder if that means we've all technically already been infected.

It could be, but the people who are turning have been attacked recently. And who else went toe-to-toe with zombies this week?

[It's Akechi. He's talking about Akechi.]

[yeah. he knows exactly who Chuuya is talking about]

[but also, 45 is on that list, so!1 he places his hands on Chuuya's shoulders, meeting his gaze firmly]

. . . don't do anything rash. Let me talk to the sisters first, okay?

[He has been grabbed. And Chuuya blinks a bit at the contact before nodding.]

Yeah, okay. We should have time anyway. The murders happen on Thursday night, or they have so far.

Yeah.

And I think that's because Thursday nights are when the transformation occurs. Before Thursday at midnight, there are no monsters.

[well. no dangerous ones, anyway]

Right. Infection probably happens before. Or like...the trigger that makes monsters transform that week. But up until Thursday night, we can investigate.

...maybe we need to lock everyone down physically each week. Nobody can murder if they're locked up, right?

Someone asked if the doors unlock at midnight, when everyone fell asleep.

I don't think locking ourselves up is really going to work.

Not locking doors, but maybe we can tie people up or put them in cages.

[. . . well. he did try to find Melt to restrain her with Galo, Lio, Beau and Phoenix, didn't he? maybe. . . just maybe. . .]

That's something else to ask the sisters. Maybe they could get chains and cages and padlocks for us.

Padlocks aren't a good idea. Those can be unlocked. But ropes, those might be the way to do it.

Ropes are flimsy. A strong monster could probably break those easily.

. . . [part of him doesn't want to say this due to his personal experiences, but. . .]

Chains.

Chains could work, if we have a way to link them up without it being a lock. Getting it off after would be the problem though.

[He raises an eyebrow at Akira's look there, though. Something the matter?]

Mmm.

[yeah he's not bringing it up, I'm sorry]

. . . bear in mind this is all a last resort. Again, I want to talk to Peach or Plum or Pumpkin first, to see if we really do have something to worry about.

[a pause]

. . . are you worried about Akechi and 45?

Right.

...yeah, I am. They're both important, okay? Aki's...I dunno. I guess she's a friend? I'm not so good with the whole 'friends' thing, but we get along. And Akechi is pretty damn smart, so he needs to not get infected and die to zombies.

[survivaltricks]

Aki?

[that isn't a name he's familiar with, but context clues tell him it's 45. either way. . . he nods]

Akechi is the practical type. If he thought he were infected, he would want people to do something about it.

I don't know 45 very well, but I wouldn't be surprised if she felt the same way.

Yeah, Aki. Like as in 'autumn'. I didn't want to call her 45, that makes her sound like a thing rather than a person.

[And thanks to their talk earlier in the week, Akira will know how important that is to Chuuya.]

So she told me to give her a name, and that's what I gave her.

...and yeah. She'd want us to do something about it if she were.

[and Akira's mouth twitches, understanding washing over his features. Chuuya really was kind, wasn't he?]

Aki. I think it suits her.

Yeah. It was her eyes, you know? They're the same color as ginko leaves.
