We've been here for four weeks, and I've only known Dazai a couple weeks longer than that. You can't like someone when you barely know them.

[That he is saying truthfully, but only because he doesn't know better.]

Actually, I think four weeks is plenty long enough to decide if you like someone or not.

[says Akira, the type to fall FAST AND HARD whenever he does]

Maybe it's not enough time to fall in love with them, but that's way different.

[Yeah, Chuuya snorts at that.]

Yeah, definitely not. That takes ages.

[He knows that much at least. Love takes a lot of time and work. He's not even thinking about that when he's still unsure about crushes.]

[He tosses the pyramid-die at Akira. It's made of paper, so it's light.]

[Akira's hand snaps up to catch the pyramid-die, though he's gentle enough not to crush it. at the question, he lets out a soft snort]

[laughing as he rocks in his seat a bit, but he uprights himself pretty quickly with his one good leg]

[though. . . he does pause a bit as he gives that response, expression thoughtful, a hum buzzing on his lips]

There are some people here who have become very important to me. You're one of those people. But--

[Ah, right. The whole monsters and murders things. That certainly makes it harder to even think about feelings and the like.]

You're probably right. There's other stuff we gotta do first.

...but you know, there's a lot of stuff I've never done before. And ever since Dazai died, I've been thinking 'what if I never get that chance'? So I guess that's why it's been on my mind.

I mean, look at me: I've killed a man but I've never even kissed anyone before. That's backwards, isn't it?

[It makes him feel inadequate, like he's messed up along the way and he's an inferior person for it. Which is very hard for him to even hint at, Akira's just made a good impression on him and makes it easier to open up.]

[it does. . . although Akira can't really blame anyone who decides to enjoy what little happiness they can find in a house of horrors like this one]

[Akira opens his mouth, ready to agree with Chuuya's supposition that he should just. . . go for it, instead of holding himself back, but then--]

[then Chuuya says the second part, and he frowns!!!]

I wouldn't say it's backwards. Your life has just been a lot different from, say, mine.

Kissing can be pretty special, if you kiss the right person. But it's not some milestone you should use to compare yourself to someone else.

I mean, you'd probably say the same about 'number of guys you've killed'. Either way, it's missing the point.

[The point being that Chuuya is different and he doesn't always like being different. Chuuya makes a noise and rubs at his face.]

Arahabaki would complicate things anyway, so this is probably all pointless.

[Akira's brow furrows, because that name is familiar. it's a piece of his soul, tucked away in the back of his brain, ready to be called forth to fight for him if he ever needed it]

Chuuya points to his chest.]

He's in here. He's a part of me. He's where my gravity powers come from, actually.

Like a Persona?

[because that explanation sure does sound like the one he'd give if he were talking about his Personas!!]

You're gonna have to explain what a Persona is.

[Because he sure as hell hasn't heard that word before.]

My Persona is a piece of my. A portion of my soul. It takes the form of different mythological, historical and literary figures. I can summon it to fight for me in the Metaverse when I need to.

[his hand falls to his lap]

The way you put it made it sound like Arahabaki was your Persona.

You know, I can't even say 'yes' or 'no' to that because I legit don't even know what we are. I just know that I'm connected to Arahabaki somehow. If I really focus I can hear h him sometimes, but it's better if I don't do that.

[Is Arahabaki a piece of his soul, or is he a piece of Arahabaki's? Who knows. Chuuya certainly doesn't.]

So I guess you can't summon a Persona here to bust us out, huh?

[Akira surely doesn't, either. . . and it's kind of weird for Chuuya to talk about Arahabaki as a separate being when Akira himself is used to Arahabaki just being a part of him]

[he responds with a huffed laugh]

Things would be way easier if I could. Kind of like they would be if you had your gravity powers.

Yeah, pretty much.

Like I said at the meeting, maybe we should try to find a way to get our powers back. We might be able to stop everything that way.

[And he misses having his gravity-powers :( ]

Isaac said the sisters were trying to help him restore his powers, so. . .

[he trails off there, because as far as he knows, they haven't been successful]

I don't really know if they can, but at least they're willing to try. Right?

Issac's the one who can talk with the dead, right? He'd be the best one to focus on for now then, yeah.

[As much as he would like to be the first to get his powers back, he can at least recognize that someone else's powers would be more useful.]

I guess we'll have to wait a week and see what they come up with.

I don't know if waiting a week is any different than having waited four and a half already, but. . .
