Still, those wounds are very real, and it leaves Chuuya coughing as he rolls on his side and sits up. And it looks like he'll be the first one to speak, too.]
[Chuuya's voice jerks Akira to attention, his head snapping up as he blinks at his roommate, eyes still wide. give him a moment he's still processing things, and he hasn't quite realized that Chuuya has also relived the dark and painful memories of that interrogation room]
[He's rubbing at his wrists now. The pain from those handcuffs is just a memory, but it sure feels real. No wonder Akira was hesitant to talk about restraints before.]
The cops. They're jerks.

I thought you only stole hearts? Why're they chasing you down?
[there's so much more to the story than that. but that's a story for later, especially since the hurt and betrayal of Chuuya's memory cuts pretty deeply. he's silent for a moment as he reaches for his glasses and slips them back onto his features, scooting a bit closer to Chuuya as he does so]

[he had definitely seen the impish and mischievous parts of the bandaged man, and he knew from the beginning that Chuuya didn't really like him. but he had no idea how far that cunning, that cruelty, that calculating ruthlessness went until now]

...he's been in the mafia longer than I have. He probably didn't grow up right because of it. I don't know how much of it is him choosing to be an asshole and how much of it is that he just doesn't know any better.

[Chuuya is perceptive enough, and that response tells Akira all he feels like he needs to know about what's going on through his roommate's head right now. still. . . he doesn't elaborate. he isn't yet ready to spill Akechi's secrets to everyone, after all]

But that's okay, Chuuya is laughing as he grabs the nearest object (probably a pillow) to try and hit Akira with. It's a tangle of blankets but he will have his revenge.]
