[ Dazai waits until after everyone is done with talking with their mysterious hosts before he approaches the other. Bumping his elbow against Chuuya's for a moment before he nods towards the cabins. ]
While everyone else explores the grounds, we should see what we have waiting for us.
[ Maybe their soon to be bunk-mates will be too busy socializing so they can get some semblance of privacy. Lifting his own key to inspect the animal. ]
[ After the announcements and after his mini adventure, he's going to locate Chuuya to carefully pin him against a wall. Which wall? We'll say mess hall or outside of a cabin. ]
Apparently future you is a four timing person. I wonder what I should do?
[ Yeah, he's not seriously bothered by that, but it was weird to hear his voice on the loud speaker ]
[ Originally he was intending on dragging Chuuya off to cash in all of those saved kisses, but they wound up finding something peculiar in the forest. It's a hollow tree with a bottomless hole at the base of the trunk.
Giving Chuuya a look before he laces their fingers together. ]
[It's like a bad dream, one that comes to both Dazai and Chuuya well into the evening, when they're both trying to sleep. A bad dream of a time Chuuya just can't seem to let go of.
---
The votes are cast, and Dazai is locked up. Chuuya is left just standing there, watching as Dazai transforms and pleads for his life.
'I don't want to die!'
"We have to help him," he says to the others, "Like we helped Hunter last week. We can help him just like that, right?"
The others- the ones he saw as allies, if not friends- they all reassure him. They can use an item to save Dazai. It happened once, and it can happen again.
Chuuya holds onto that hope, all through the night, all the way up to the execution. Someone has to have an item that can save Dazai. If one existed, then there must be more.
Ayabe is called up, and Chuuya still believes in that possibility. If anyone would save Dazai, it's Ayabe. He must have a plan.
But they fight, and they fight, and it slowly becomes clear that no, there is no saving Dazai. Nobody stepped forward to offer up the item to save Dazai's life.
Nobody CARED.
And as Chuuya watches that final blow strike true, he feels that hope die within him.
He was a goddamn fool to trust them. Of course nobody would reach out to help Dazai. Why did he think someone would offer that salvation to him? Everyone cared about themselves and their own, so of course they would save those items for themselves.
A piece of Chuuya died that day, one that didn't come back, even when Dazai and the others did.
'I can't trust them. If it comes down to it, they won't come through for me. I have to protect myself and my own instead.'
---
Chuuya startles awake with a soft gasp. He's curled up behind Dazai, his stomach pressed to Dazai's back to keep them both warm during the rainy night. For a few seconds, he lays there, breathing heavily as he comes out of that memory/nightmare combination.
And then he hugs Dazai around the middle, pressing his face against Dazai's back. He's not crying, he doesn't cry. Just ignore that wetness on his face, it's only sweat.]
The door to the right opens to what can only be described as a party. An open air banquet of tables and tapestries, pillows and plush finery. You could eat and drink and drink and eat but the feast that surrounds you refills itself endlessly. What should be hot is always hot, what should be cold is always cold, and whatever you’re craving is always somewhere to be found. There’s plenty of room for dancing, and in fact the boisterous music that plays from the band you just can’t quite seem to find is perfect for letting loose alone, with a partner, or even a full group.
Strings of embellished fabrics and soft lights canopy overhead in a seemingly endless stretch outwards in every direction in a warm blanket of red and gold--though if you keep walking, you eventually find yourself in an open, grassy field dotted by grazing animals. Mostly you’ll find farm animals, demure cattle and lazing horses (AND LLAMAS), but if you’re really determined to find something from home, it may just appear for you, for a time, always domesticated and in good spirits.
As for beds, restrooms, and other general common-place necessities...um...good question? Looks like someone was a bit narrow-minded in their planning. At least there’s no shortage of pillows to lounge on, and they are quite comfortable.
---
Dazai is going to lead the way into this wing of the temple. ]
Figured a little break from the rain and snow would be good.
[ Also there's food and pillows every where. But staying warm and dry for a while is nice. ]
[Chuuya is going to wait until after Dazai is showered and dressed before coming to bother him. Since he looked pretty cold and all at trial. And also it takes him a bit to get Natalie to their cabin and settled in.]
[ Locating Chuuya using his senses before gently nudging him. He'll probably get more of a neutral, and vague touch of concern from Dazai at the brief contact. ]
There's a new place that opened up that I think you'll enjoy, Chuuya.
[ Enjoy or rather he might need. He can tell even without the touch what mood Chuuya is in. ]
[ Since Schrodinger hand holding happened at execution he's just going to pull him away as soon as they can move and everything is finished. Others are already going to care for Flayn and it's hailing.
Time to drag Chuuya away and to the library. He hasn't gotten the chance to explore it since it's been unlocked considering everything that has happened.
Time to just C/P

[Someone has just gone through a really long day and is exhausted. When he finds Dazai, he'll just drag him towards the mountain. The airline should be quiet this time of day, right?]
